FAQ

Home » FAQ
How does an engagement with One Life Consulting work?
We keep it simple. Most engagements start off with a 30-minute telephone or Zoom conversation, pre-scheduled via our online booking tool. Sometimes this conversation is all that’s required to provide sufficient clarity or answer simple questions. When additional consultation or recurring effort is warranted, we can structure the engagement in a number of different ways to best serve the client’s unique situation. To begin such an engagement we’ll text or email you a concise consulting agreement that you can easily sign on your computer or mobile device. At the end of the engagement, or periodically for extended engagements, we’ll email you an invoice containing an easy payment link. We want you to focus on outcomes, not logistics.
Do you provide medical services or medical advice?
One Life Consulting does not provide medical services or medical advice. We can help with many aspects of late-life decision making, but we believe medical advice is best provided by your doctor.
I want to work directly with Ellen Donovan. Can I be assured that she will be the person to return my inquiry?
Yes.  I will personally put my 30 years of experience to work for you, and will be there for you every step of the way. If you need a service I cannot provide, I can almost always refer you to a trusted partner who can help.
How much will this cost me?
One Life Consulting charges $160/hour (billed in 15-minute increments), and many engagements consist of a single 30-minute or 60-minute conversation.  For more lengthy engagements, or those for which recurring services are necessary, we’ll put together more convenient payment packages to make our clients’ lives easier.
How do I make payment?
We accept many forms of payment. Personal checks can be mailed to our office, and we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay, PayPal and bank transfers via a convenient payment link we’ll send to your email.
What if my parents live outside of the Greater Philadelphia area? Can you still help them?
Absolutely!  In fact, many of my clients have been outside of the region and my advice and counselling has helped them tremendously. While I am more familiar with services and facilities in and around Philadelphia, the principles I will discuss with you will apply anywhere. I can also perform research for you and help interview potential services or facilities that you may be considering using, regardless of where those are located.
